Nashbar 29er

I was just wondering if anyone in here has any experience with nashbar bikes. I really want a SS 29er, but don't have a lot of coin. I was looking at this https://www.nashbar.com/bikes/Product...2_502354_-1___ with the idea of upgrading components in the future.

Bikes: KHS 29er SS, Ventana El Toro, Surly CrossCheck, Kona Stinky(retired), Dahon Speed D7,

Looks okay for the price. I have a KHS Solo one 2009 that is pretty similar. Just don't think about upgrading parts on this bike, it will likely send you down a black hole. Probably best to consider it an experiment. In fact, this was my first 29er and use it a lot. Part of me, feels guilty for enjoying such a low end bike!!!

Depends, are you in a rush to get the ss? I picked up a GT Peace SS from Nashbar in January for $350. You way do better in the off season getting a good deal. I think the Peace is a far better bike then that Nashbar. Not a bad bike, but have you checked out bikesdirect.com? i just picked up a Gravity 29.4 from them and I love that bike. Check them out, not sure what their SS are, but worth a look

Thanks for the info guys. I'm not in any kind of hurry, I just didn't know if anyone had any experience with Nashbar brand bikes. Bikesdirect has a few that I've been looking at also, but my LBS has a redline monocog 29er that I fell in love with a few weeks ago, but it's a litte more than I wanted to spend. Looks like it's time to start saving my pennies.

Bikes: Felt F1X, Kilo WT, Dawes Deadeye

The Dawes Deadeye was considered a good value on MTBR. Full rigid SS 29er that's disc ready at $330 shipped. If you just want one to experiment with it's worth considering. I just ordered one the other day but I haven't received it yet.

I think those are re-branded SE Stouts. Heavy but perfectly fine for what they are.
