front to rear brake swap?

I currently have a set of old hayes on my cannondale lefty with 4 bolt rotors. The rotors are good but brakes are shot. I found a set of formula brakes i like but are "front" only. I was wondering if i buy the hose length for the rear brake and with the lever designed to work on either side would i be able to use two "front" brake set ups? Thanks
