I'm going to be straight up honest here. My story is like yours, I got a road bike and loved it and about a year later I got a mountain bike. As it turns out, mountain biking is the greatest thing ever, and now my road rides are totally boring. I barely ride my road bike anymore and I'm just not as excited to get out on the road anymore. MTBing is like a disease

It's a common story. I'm the same way. I still love riding on the road and just feeling the wind and smoothness and everything. But you have to be honest, it can feel monotonous occasionally. Mountain biking is about as different as cycling can be compared to road riding, while still using something with two wheels.

It's also, in my opinion, about 10x the workout road riding is, no matter how hard you're mashing.

yeah i like how different it is. i like the long slow burn of the road bike and the short burst intensitity of mountain biking. i just hope i have plenty of time for both this year. the mountain bike will probably only see one day per week duty because i'll have to drive it to a trail. i can hop on the road bike right out my back door.

Congratulations, lol. I actually did the reverse of that, got started in mountain biking and then got a road bike. Still love doing both, and I don't consider one to be better then the other. It's all riding a bike to me, just depends on what I feel like doing that day.

SCHWEEET! What a great looking couple of bikes ya got! Even the monster with Green fenders looks good! I don't see any bottle racks. Are you one of those radical who camelbacks on a road bike?
