Did you get a special deal or is that like msrp? But either way I can wait a little bit to get a better bike/ deal. By the way is yours 2005 or older?

Doesn't matter. Stinky's never sell for more than 2000$ cdn. MSRP is never the actual sales rate of Kona's.
If thats the prices try and find an 04. 1900 for a stinky...stinks.

Well I know the people at the shop so I may be able to get it for like $1800 $1700 at the least but I doubt I would be able to get it for that. So sould I just get more money and get the Bullit instead? It's probably a better bike isn't it.

Damn either that shop can't get good prices or stinkies went WAY up. For what you get on one I wouldn't pay more than 1500...
Bullit is not normally 2200 he either knew someone, got a bro deal, used or a couple of years old. The frames are like 1400 american new

I still wouldn't spend 2400 on a stinky (cdn)...and the MSRP's haven't changed that much, so the diff between last year and this year shouldn't be 400 american. The shop is gauging imo.
For an extra 300$ american get a bighit comp. Similar strength frame with horst linkage and SIGNIFIGANTLY better fork. Well worth the extra money. Plus adjustable travel etc etc....

Regarding MSRP on Konas...
Kona dealers in the Bay Area seem to always charge MSRP. Not sure if it's a supply/demand thing (there are not very many Kona shops), but the tags are always at MSRP.
Of course, I'm sure you can work something out with the shop, especially if you've bought bikes there before or are dropping $$$ on bikes + gear.
Me personally, I'm not sure if I'll ever buy a new bike again, looking at some of the deals that can be had on Craigslist. I hope to be shopping for a road bike next spring, and plan to spend under $300 for a steel, lugged frame with decent build.
Of course, if you buy used, you may need to be somewhat flexible on what exactly you end up with, but you can get a screaming deal.
Here's a sampling, and these just came up today:

How good is the '05 VPS Six? Its Msrp is $2050 I could probably get it for $1900 possibly $1800 I'm pretty good friends with the shop owner plus his family and my family have been friends for god knows how long so I think I could get some kinda deal. I was just checkin out some other full suspension bikes and came across this one.

would be like 2700. And thats a whole new level of bike. You are looking at a signifigant upgrade in bike. The fork alone is worth the 500 or 600$ let alone the horst link, more travel, better frame (more dh oriented)
Keep one thing in mind. This bike is a DH bike meant and designed for a certain trail on whistler mountain. Amazing frame but not fun to pedal around. Its a beast.
