n00b looking for a new bike needs to narrow down choice fast

Please can the guys with more knowledge on the subject help.
I haven't been riding in many years and am looking for a bike.

Was trying to decide between these 2 bikes.
Giant Revel 3 with disk brakes
Giant Revel 0 (also with disk brakes)
The 1st one is a R4000 bike while the 2nd is a R5500. (the R vs $ eschange rate is about 8:1)

Meanwhile a slightly used Schwinn Moab Elite has come along that was R5600 brand new but going to R3700 now.

Now I just don't know if I should just take the Schwinn.
I'm looking at their parts and simply dont know much about bikes to tell which parts are good or not and which are better.
Please can anyone advise on the parts on the Schwinn vs the 2 Giants?
What should I be looking out for?

Update:The Schwinn used bike has been sold (not to me) and that's ok.
Still doing some reading to try find what is the best bike for me.
I'll either get a used bike and then a 29er later, or just get a really good 26er now and work it from there.
The Giant Revel 0 is looking like a cool bike to get though.
