chain ring and chain help

I am putting a new set of 9 speed chain rings on my sons bike the original chain ring size is 42-32-24T the upgrade one will be 44/32/22,Could someone tell me if i will need to get a bigger chain ?

If you mean longer chain, you should determine the length by dressing the chain over the large-large and determine the shortest length that the chain can be re-attached. Then add approx 1". Do this without running the chain through the derailer.

It is impossible to tell if you will need a longer chain than you have without doing the sizing as stated because you did not provide enough information.
