Genesis v2100 after 15 days
so after 2 weeks my bike has had a few problems, first off I will start with the front disc brakes, now if you knew how these brakes worked you know they run off of 3 ball bearings that come out of a groove into another groove after coming off of an incline to act like a spacer after twisting the post leftward, these brakes didnt work good from day one, the return spring sucks, and the one of ball bearings fell out, just about 1 hour ago I disassembled the whole brake my self and replaced the ball bearings with other bike bearings, now lets move onto the next thing, the handle bars have bent downwards, I am only 140 lbs btw, and the stem is also bent, and also the shock lost all of its oil, it has no damping or softening affect at all, the front fork isnt to hard after break in, not to soft either, but it will bottom really hard when it does bottom out, and i have atleast 200 miles on this so far, back wheel bearing are slowly going out, the back wheel wiggles, shifters, brakes, derailleurs, tires, all work great, but the cables unwind really easy and out of the box the metal caps came off and I pinched then back on but i guess they fell off again...over all its a wonderful bike for only 150 bucks from walmart, would much rather have this then a schwin, huffy, or mongoose walmart bike

A Walmart bike is a Walmart bike, I'm sorry to say. This is going to happen to any $150 bike. The bar and stem might not actually be bent but instead may have rotated if the bolts weren't tight enough. Loosen, realign, retighten. For trail riding, replace the bike when the budget allows.

As long as you're happy with it and it gets you out of the house, though, who am I to say anything?
Edit: to piggyback on post #2. DO NOT PUT MONEY INTO "UPGRADES" FOR THIS BIKE. There are too many weirdly sized things that won't transfer to a better/more reliable bike. If you want to keep it running, by all means, but don't swap out working parts because you get new paint disease.

You are having a blast with this bike, so keep on beating that bike to pieces. What the guys above are saying is good advice. This bike sounds almost like a first love. Ride that Genesis and build your skills. But save your money for the future. You will out grow it pretty soon. It might be fun to sticker bomb it or custom paint it down the road when you have worn it out.
I remember when someone referred to my '94 HT as a brick of a bike. The I rode an '08 C/F FS bike. WOW, its the difference in kissing your mom good night and kissing Angelina Jolie. You'll see. In the meantime. Ride that sucker for all you can get out of it.

I hope you kept your receipt. You may find yourself doing more adjusting than riding before the 90 day return period expires.
