My advice for the day: January 13th, 2005.

When out on the trail and you are going through a section that you feel is overwhelming you, just stay on and remain calm. Bailing in a situation like this usually leads to injury. Chances are if you don't tense up and panic, you will make it through the section.

I've noticed the same thing... keep your head up and stay relaxed and allow your body to soak up the bumps and such and you tend to stay in control better. Tensing up causes you to "fight" the bike and you end up on your face

My advice!

Check the calendar. Today is only the 13th. Unless you're talking about riding on Saturday.

I'll be stuck in a "student leadership conference" all day on the 15th, so no ride for me. I'll see if I can find a way to apply your advice there.
