Made in USA Mt Bikes
I've been trying to find out what Mt Bikes are still made in the USA and are sub $1,500 or so. I have come up with Titus bikes like the FTM and the X and that's it. Are there any other companies that make their bikes here short of $5,000 custom one-offs?

There are hundreds of small frame builders that build custom steel hard tail frames. Some of them are around the $1500 price range (frame only). But if you mean complete bike - no way you will find any made in USA bikes for that cheap. No way a Titus will be less than $1500 as a complete bike. I don't think they are made in the USA anymore anyway, especially since they went bankrupt and were bought by On-One in the UK. Also, if it's a carbon frame, then it's probably made overseas even if it is from a USA company.
But here is a partial list of USA made frames off the top of my head (not including any of the small 1 person custom shops)::
Intense, Ventana, Gunnar, Turner, Lynskey, Independent Fabrications, Seven, Moots

The FTM and X are listed as Made in the USA and retail for $899.

That is for frame only without the shock. On their store site, you can get the FTM aluminum frame for $942.25 with a Rock Shox Monarch RT3 or the carbon frame for $1,022 with a Rock Shox Monarch RT3.
Also, if you read carefully, you will note that they only tag the aluminum version with "Made in the USA; " they make no such claims for the carbon. As Thor mentions above, the vast majority of carbon sourcing is from Asia.
