Trek Bikes 2013.
I don't know what they were thinking with the specs on some of the bikes. For example, Alivio on a bike that the msrp is over $1,000. Plus a sr suntour fork on on a bike that is at $1200 msrp.
What I am happy to see is the evolution of the fuel ex line, now 130mm travel with EX8 up, comes equipped with ISCG tabs and have shortened up the stays and lowered the bottom bracket. That's pretty much it.
What I am really disappointed about the 2013 line is:
1) Seems like they took the Henry Ford approach to a good number of their bikes. You can have any color you want, as long as it's black.
2) They did not bring the changes over to the remedy and slash it seems.
3) They finally made a DJ bike that was finally worth getting in the ticket and what do they do for the 2013 model year? Discontinue it Maybe they should have priced it realistically. Guess they needed more room for another 29er.
4) No slopestyle bike, people have been asking for it to be released for purchase.
Overall, I have to say with the exception of the Fuel EX line, I am not a fan of their 2013 line up.

There's nothing wrong with it, it's just weird seeing it on a bike that is over a grand.

I generally agree that its crazy seeing Alivio cost that much, BUT Shimano does favor the "hand me down" technique with their components. In many cases 2002 XT becomes 2004 LX, which becomes 2006 Deore, and so on... So yes it may not be the latest and greatest, but modern Alivio is way better than Alivio of even 3 years ago.
I'm more concerned with pogo stick-like forks (no damping) coming on bikes over $600.

I tweeted @TrekBikes about it, and they said '@RedbullMTBbda (me) its important for us to offer a range of prices. We do also feature higher-end drivetrains on other models
