Please help me with these shoes....

I got a pair of shoes at the thrift store this weekend. Shimano shoes for $2 and they seem brand new, never worn. Good deal, eh?

But my question is that I've never worn clip-less shoes...Can I use these for daily use and walk around normally? IE: not do a "penguin walk" at the grocery store? I know I need to buy some pedals, and they come with the cleats I need, but are the shoes/cleats combo "walkable" in a store...I don't intend to wear them all day at work, of course.

Bikes: I don't own any bikes

That is a touring/mountain bike shoe... if you add a cleat, it will be recessed. The shoe is meant to walk around in. A roadie shoe has a smooth botton; no outer platoons to walk on. I now wear MTB shows for road and mountain biking. I used to tour with roadie shoes but would wear out cleats and it was totally uncomfortable. I now buy Sidi Dominators, add a cleat and can walk around OK. The shoe you bought seems to be even more comfortsable. Good deal...

You might be surprised how comfy those shoes are ,
I don't see any problems wearing them all day at work.
Unless your employer objects; you need safety shoes, business casual, etc.

Thanks all! They are comfortable, but the soles are soooo stiff I couldn't imagine spending the day in them. Looks like I'm gonna have to look around for some pedals now.
