Crack in paint or frame

I need help determining if this is a superfical crack in the paint or in the frame. So I'm turning to the experts on internet. hahahaha.

The one thing that concerns me is that it looks like where the weld is finished, the welder put a dipple in the downtube.

Thanks in advance

ewww

that looks nasty

where did you buy this frame
because i would take it back and have them look at it
and consider warranty replacement

the twirling dance that the cables are doing
as they run along the top tube
leads me to believe this is a dept store bike

also

having your head tube separate from the frame
as is a likely result of that joint faling
is about the most catastrophic thing that can happen while riding

Though I'm more of a Mackenzie King guy myself, Wilf's poem speaks the truth. It looks like a crack. Bring it to a dealer before riding it any more.

Thanks for the input. I will be pursuing the warranty replacement.
