Need 29er fitment advice

Hi,

Can someone enlighten me on the differences between top tub length, actual top tube length, and effective top tube length? I test rode a Diamondback Overdrive with the following specs:

Diamondback (18in)
Standover height = 76.2cm
Top tube length - 59.69cm

The diamondback felt pretty much perfect but I am considering getting an Airborne Guardian 2.0, its geo specs are as follows:

Airborne (18in)
Actual top tube length = 58.6cm
Effective top tube length = 60.3cm

Airborne (20in)
Actual top tube length = 60cm
Effective top tube length = 62.2cm

Which airborne, the 18 or 20 is more close to the 18 Diamondback? Is top tube length the same as actual top tube length?
