GT Avalanche 2.0 2008 Help!

Hi,
i am currently looking for a new bike to do some downhilling with on blue tracks in South Wales. I have come across a GT Avalanche 2.0 (2008), in very good condition for £175. I was wondering if anyone could shed some light on whether or not this is a good deal as I've done some shopping around and research but i am still a bit naive in this kind of field.

Evans Cycles | GT Avalanche 2.0 Disc 2008 Mountain Bike | Online Bike Shop (thats the link to the spec of the bike)

Thanks,
Scott.

The GT Avalanche is a XC/Cross Country bike, you can ride it down a hill but it isn't a 'downhill' bike, if you ride it like a downhill bike you'll break it.

A downhill bike looks like this.
