Bikes: Lots

When BikeForums first started, one of the regular members rode a uni and rode it with a vengence. He would ride off-road trails, do drops, ladders, bridges...etc.

Unfortunately, he passed away in a car accident.

One of the first people here at the forums that I became "friends" with.

Well, I have a unicycle. I play with it when I get some free time. I'd like to learn to ride it good but mountain biking seems to take up most of my riding time.

I've seen pics of a couple of hardcore unicycle guys here in Nor Cal, up in Auburn I think. They were wearing full armor, doing hairy technical trails, drops, and whatnot.

I think the pics were at forums.mtbr.com

I learnt to ride my friends one, I still suck at it, but I can ride on grass and gravel roads now. He can do 1m drops on it and ride trails.

They made it to Aussie TV, doing some rides around Cambria, if I recall. Our first tandem ride was a 30km charity event. We rode over 50km that day, as we had to ride to and from the start point. My wife was sick, we had only taken the bike out a few times before, and it was crappy weather. She knew it was important to me, so she went anyway. We flatted (with a bolt-on 20mm thru axle) and stopped a million times for adjustments to get everything to fit better. We had started in the back, and even though we put in a good effort, a guy on a unicycle finished before us. We're a bit better at it now.

30 years ago several friends and I invented the sport of mountain unicycling riding chrome Schwinns.

Well, we were probably pioneers in the sport at least. I'm surprised I was able to sire children!
