Are these parts compatible with my bike?
I have a 2002 specialized rockhopper fsr xc. I'm looking to upgrade the components this winter because I haven't had to replace anything except the tires on it. Also I want to convert it to 2x10. I need to know if these parts fit.
1. Shimano xt m786 sgs shadow plus rear derailleur
2. xt fd-785 front derailleur
3. Xt sl-m780 shifters
4. Xt 11-36 10 speed cassette
5. Race face turbine with wick werks crankset (not sure the size of bb i need)
6. Avid bb7 brakes
7. Rockshox xc 32 tk 100mm forks (not sure what 9mmQr means)
OR
8. Fox 32 float 26 rlc fit 100mm forks. I guess I'm just looking for 1 1/8" steerer
Are the shifters and derailleurs compatible for the 2x10?
Will either fork fit/work with my bike?
Will the crankset fit?
I already have new mavic crossland with avid discs on them. Not on the bike yet
I know its a lot of ?'s but I have been doing a lot of research and just keep getting confused about what will or won't fit my 2002 rockhopper
thanks for the help in advance

Yes everything should fit assuming your frame has the mounts for disc brakes. Most BB come with spacers to make them fit 68 or 73mm bottome brackets and if you can't find out what you need on the web your old one probably has the size printed on it.
That is a 9mm quick release. A lot of bikes are switching to through axles. You will have to make sure you get the right sized clamp for the front derailleur to fit your frame.
For the fork you want a straight steerer not a tapered which is what most new shocks have gone too.
Now to be a Debbie Downer. That is a lot of money to put into and old out dated full suspension frame. If you were updating a hard tail you really liked it would make more sense to me but rear suspension designs have improved greatly since 2002. I went from a 2003 to a used 2011 one myself 2 years ago and what a difference.

Yea. I was thinking that too, but I was leaning this way cause I could buy 1 part at a time over winter. I've priced the parts out at $900-1000. I also want to get it powder coated. It seems like a new fs bike starts at around $2200 for a good one.

I'd second the used bike suggestion. Then you'd have another bike for the amount you would be spending on upgrades. I saw a 2005 Giant Reign advertised at a local CL ad for $500. I'm sure someone got a great deal for a solid full squish bike with Giant's Maestro rear suspension.
I had a 2002 Rockhopper XC about 7 years ago before I bought a 2007 Reign2. As far as full suspension goes, it's a day and night difference between the two.

So what is it about it that is so out of date. This is the only one I've rode so I don't know. I do also have about a 2008-2010 cannondale bad boy.
