Pike's Peak

Hello,

I'm planning a trip to Colorado and have some questions regarding the Pike's Peak climb.

I'd like to start in town (Colorado Springs) and head through Manitou Springs then up the mountain. The main question I have, is whether or not there is anywhere along the route to refill water bottles. Around here in Utah, you can typically fill up at campgrounds within the canyons if you run out.

Also, the road is now paved all the way to the top correct?

Thanks.

You can get water at Crystal Reservoir or Glen Cove on the way up. Not sure about the toll gate or the summit house, but if you call or email them (I can't post links due to new account) at coloradosprings.gov/pikes-peak-americas-mountain then they can tell you where to get water definitively. Also, this coming weekend (8/24 and 8/25) is the runner's marathon and I'd highly suggest scheduling for another weekend if you can.

edit: also, yes. It is paved all the way up on the toll road.

Thanks for the info. I'm looking at a couple weeks out still (weekend after labor day).

Thanks!
