Wonder if I saw you - almost all my rides are along 36 and the rural roads just to the east of it, including St Vrain.

Call me before you go and i will join you. However, why miss out on that great long descent into Grand Lake? Surely you could spend a night on the other side of the divide.

Rist Canyon and Horsetooth tomorrow, if anyone is so inclined. It is an RMCC ride, so may want to check their site, if interested. I will certainly be there after the crap weather we had last weekend.

Did the RMCC ride today...never rode that route before....it hurts a lot. That climb from Stove Prairie Rd over the gap on Rist Canyon is 1.3 miles and averages around 12% grade with grades up to 16......zowie

I saw more >13% on Garmin today than I've ever seen by a long shot.

Well dang. I was there, and yep.... 80 miles of punishment, for sure.

Going to do the flat 60 tomorrow?

I'd love to but I've got a 7 year old who's having a birthday party. I might get in 20 around town if I can sneak away for an hour or so.

Lemme guess you were the guy in the bikeforums.net 50 plus jersey

You guessed correctly.

What were you riding? I will keep a look out, for sure.

Happy Birthday to the Wee One as well!

I was on the beat up old Ti bike and in Team Type 1 Jersey. I rode the last 15 miles or so with you right after you caught up to me when we turned off on 25e. I had mostly flat front tire for the last 5 miles or so....

Gotcha. Helluva job!

Well, for what it's worth, yesterday was one of the hardest rides, then came today. We hauled the mail out, with a breeze as a tailwind. 30 miles back with a constant wind in our face was a buster. Dunno if the breeze turned into wind, but it sure seemed like it.

Wind is such killer.....at least on a climb you can understand why you are going so slow....when it's the wind I tend to forget about it's effects and just kill myself fighting it.
