NYC Five Boro Tour Pass
Hi All
I dont suppose anyone has a spare one or two passes for the 5 boro tour? I left it way to late and only VIP tickets left at $300+ which is crazy. Happy to pay a small premium or maybe swap for something...

Check closer to the event date. There will be people who for whatever reason won't be able to attend and will be willing to sell at cost. Nobody has the rider packets right now anyway or has even received the emailed bar code needed to pick up the packets.
Alternatively, you can sign up as a charity rider if you think you can convince enough friends, family and co-workers to donate the necessary funds. Be aware that charity riders have to commit to the fundraising minimum by registering with their credit cards. If you don't raise the minimum, your card will be charged the difference. Most charities have a minimum of $750 or more.

Thanks for this. I will keep my eyes open. I checked the Charity route and they seem to want $1k to $1.5k. If I was doing a tough hundred miles plus no problem but getting that for a leisurely ride around NYC is not so easy - at least with my friends.

I have 2 tickets for sale, if you're interested. I intended to ride, but I have a family engagement out of town that weekend. My loss is your gain.
Inbox me if interested.

I had knee surgery last Friday, so my pass is for sale. Just one, in wave 2.

yea, but I've done it many times. I was thinking of volunteering. As for my knee, it is amazing what they can do these days. One week later I'm walking like it never happened.

No. There are marshals and cops everywhere. Unless you have a bib and badge, you'll stick out like a sore thumb. You can certainly ride around the periphery and catch some of the bands and other action.

The helmet cover is the big thing. That's basically the most noticeable part of the rider identification kit. The bib and bike plate can be hard to see in a sea of riders, but it's very easy to spot a helmet that's not in tour colors.
