Question
I have a 27 by 1 and 1/4 1981 Fuji Royale I have a 26 by 1 and 3/8 Tire am I okay to put this tire on my front fork I need a replacement tire and I cannot afford the tire for it at the moment but I have a spare tire lying around and it is a 26-in is it okay to go on my bike temporarily for now

By tire do you mean wheel? A 26x1-3/8 tire won't fit a 27x1-1/4 rim, the ISO of the 26 is probably 590mm vs the 27's 630mm, that's quite a difference in diameter, if the 26 is one of the other variations of that size, it could have an even smaller diameter. As to tossing on the whole wheel, that's a maybe, that 40mm difference translates to the 26" brake track sitting 20mm lower than the 27" which is usually more than most brakes are able to adjust for, you may find your brake pads can't be moved low enough to not rub on the tire which is a dangerous situation.

No what trying do.like a donut on a car I want put my 26 1 3/8 tire whole thing on my 27 in front fork temporarily till get new tire tread I got into a head on with a curb doing 35 on my 81 Fuji and dinged my tire. Was all.just want make sure gonna temporarily work.
