i live in Rockville, MD. New to road cycling and i love about 10 minutes from rock creek park. Trying to work up the ability to ride the entire thing.

Hey Rob - welcome. Piney Point - great area. My father in law has a house on Lighthouse Lane (not Lighthouse Road - to the left of the road where it meets the river) that we come to all the time. Great biking in that area - love riding all around the area, especially around St. Georges.

Pretty much new to biking. I hear this area (MoCo) has great road cycling potential, but I'm in pretty congested suburbs - I've been sticking to the MUPs that line many of the roads around here.
