Hey Y'all!
I've lurked around here for awhile reading odds n' ends but now would like to hook up with some VT folks and hit some nice MNT bike trails. I live in Burlington and commute to work on my beater '99 Trek 4500 tank of a mountain bike but I also like to hit the trails. haven't found too many yet.
Any suggestions?
Thanks ~ See ya!

Where do you commute? Have we seen each other?
I ride the trail along the lake between Colchester and Burlington. (A.K.A., The Island Line Trail.) BMike lives nearby and we've met one frosty afternoon a couple of months back. Brr. Glad that winter nonsense is over with.
There are some okay trails around the Intervale and the Ethan Allen homestead. Not many hills though.

I live in Burlington right across from Winooski. There's a great bunch of trails out in Colchester behind the National Guard base, and you get to ride through training grounds and see a bunch of tanks and all kinds of crap. And I do 'em on my old beater trek 820, works like a charm.
I once took a wrong turn and happened on a few dozen troops marching right out of a big green bus towards me. The trails there are full of surprises, hehe...
But you should definitely check those out, they're some fun trails. Straight up the hill on main st. through winooski, just stay on through colchester and turn right on Hercules Ave. Haven't made it there yet this summer but hope to soon.
