Philly Schuykill path riders

I was just out at the Oaks portion of the path today and saw that they are closing the Oaks bridge on June 7th or thereabouts. The sign said that they are planning to put in a temporary path, but I also saw a recommendation that you can connect to the Perkiomen path through the Audobon spur. Does anyone know about this?

Was just out there at lunchtime. The sign now says June 4th for closing. Looks like we're going to get a dedicated trail bridge out of it.

I've also been curious when they're actually going to start the continuation of the Schuylkill trail off to the left after the bridge. I believe they were supposed to start last Fall.

It's open! Just went over it on my lunchtime ride. It doesn't offically open until this afternoon, but the supervisor there let me go. They were doing the final line painting. They did a really nice job on the bridge.

Great! Now what will I do without having to maneuver the hill on the Audubon Loop?

Great, I'll be taking the wife down there later today (Wednesday). Prefer to park at Oaks and ride to Betzwood. Wife just started biking with a Trek Lime Lite. And the bike ain't lite.

Rejoice?

When I was commuting, I rode the Loop downhill - at night. That was fun. I stopped when I realized that if I spilled no one would find me until morning. :-(

I tried the Audubon loop twice. That was enough for me. Plus, I'm on a recumbent trike which made it even more fun! Going down was a blast. Going up was a walk...

I'll be out today again at lunchtime. If you see a big guy ona trike, that's me.
