Riding in or around Danbury CT
I wind up down there about once a month, and I did try to bike some down there--but it's a mite more crowded on the roads than rural NH. Anyhow, I've gotten permission from the better half for this Saturday to be away for a while--so I think I may attempt a metric century. The wife recommended riding around Candlewood Lake or heading towards Fairfield. Any recommendations?

I live in Newtown, a few miles east of Danbury, and I always head north for the quieter roads. When I lived in Danbury, I used to to head out west (Franklin St, King St, back roads to 22), over to NY, climb up some hills off 22 such as Birch Hill or Quaker Hill, then North cutting back to CT in Sherman, then back dow through new Milford & Brookfield .... (or taking 37 back)

Hmm, not sure what roads those are (not familiar with the territory), but I'll take note of that. Thanks.

If you're just here for a weekend, and you have a car available, it might be more enjoyable to drive out of Danbury, then ride.
