Alpine Approach Climb

Anybody know what the deal is with Henry Hudson Drive between the circle at the road up to Englewood Cliffs, and the Alpine Approach Road?

A couple times recently I've gone up Henry Hudson Dr from the GWB end, intending to do the climb up Alpine Approach Road, but HH Dr was barricaded at the Englewood circle. Each time I thought about going around the barricade, but decided against it.

Not sure if there's debris on the road, or construction? Has anyone sneaked through there to check it out?

I last rode it around 3 weeks ago. There was some constuction near the alpine approach road but that was supposed to be finished by early November. From other reports I've read on the NYCC web site there are some rough sections but the road is passable. The road is officially closed to automobile traffic from mid Nov to mid April so those barricades will be closed till then.

Cool, many thanks. I'll give it a shot next time I'm up that way.

The road is closed to cars during the winter (hence the closed gates), but it's open to bicycles and hikers. It was closed to all for about two weeks recently while sections were repaved and some retaining walls were strengthened and repaired.

I rode it yesterday and it was mostly free from leaves, and all the new paving was complete.
