Question about Access to College Point Shorefront Park

I have a race that starts at CPSP on Sunday morning.

https://www.halfmarathons.net/usa_hal...on_queens.html

I will be driving in from the LIE. Is there a trick to getting to this race and then getting out? It looks like the start is completely blocked by the course, meaning that you have to be there way early before the race starts, and that you will have problems leaving because of people still on the course.

There does not appear to be any Mass Transit in the area except for a few buses.

I know, it has nothing to do with bike riding, but ...

Transportation info is here:

Best bet is probably to take public transit or the shuttle bus they provide from Flushing.

From the start at MacNeil Park (at Poppenhusen Avenue near 119th Street), this fast, flat out-and-back course takes participants southward through the neighborhoods of the College Point district and then eastward into the Whitestone and Beechhurst areas, zigging and zagging through neighborhoods winding its way back to the park through New York's largest and most diverse borough for the finish.

Race participants are limited to three hours on the course, after which time medical stations and refreshments will no longer be available. The race starts at 7:00 AM.

It's an early 7AM start on a Sunday ending at 10AM so you should be able to drive out with no problems along posted cross over streets.
