Winter Bikepacking

Anyone do Winter Bikepacking here? Will be in town for Nov + Dec and would love to get a crew together to do some winter bike camping.

I do not. However, I'm a bit fascinated by it and was internetting tents today. The arctic oven is awesome. But it's a 1300 dollar tent that weighs 20 lbs.

What is your preferred mode of transportation? MTB? Fatbike? Touring rig? And how do you pack for the temp drop sleeping wise. Tent style, mylar, sleeping bag, etc?

I use a Cyclocross bike with either 38c touring tires or 40c dirt tires. I run Revelate bags that attach to my seatpost and handlebar. No panniers and no racks. I am pretty sure any three season tent would work for NYC. I'll probably give it a go in December since I'll be in NYC for a couple of months.
