NYC- 9W to Piermont
Can someone comment on the condition of 9W to/from Piermont/Nyack (and beyond)? Are the shoulders cleared? Are there huge cracks/holes in the pavement along the way?
Since it looks like we've broken the cycle of subfreezing temperatures, I'm thinking about building up my distance again.
thanks.

Anyone?

There are some issues with 9W, but all in all it's not bad. There are a couple of holes esp. near sewer grates and the shoulders are a little dirty in places. Some cracked pavement, but nothing serious. There are also some places where water is coming up through the pavement. Odd, must be frost heaves thawing. There have been a lot of cyclists out there riding. The park is closed at the south end but accessible from Alpine. They're doing road work on the south end of the park. Still some snow on the west shoulder of the Alpine climb but very passable and basically a non-issue.
I have not covered 9w between Piermont and Nyack.
There are far worse sections on River Rd in Edgewater.

The snow was set to start today and it's actually a nice day in/around the city, so perhaps this forecast was refreshingly wrong. The weekend looks nice!
