Today was absolutely beautiful. They cancelled the kid's soccer games, etc, in anticipation of bad air quality, but it was almost perfect today. It was nice and warm too. Tuesday was also great. The rest of the week it was bad enough for me to close the windows and avoid inhaling any more than I had to.

And the air quality is back up into Red unhealthy. Ordered a box of N95 masks to have around just in case.

Finally, some rain on the way tonight.

In-laws still haven't been back to their house since last Tuesday. They're RIGHT on the edge of the fire boundary and no way to know if it's still there for sure.

Yes, rain is on the way. Even a couple of days' worth will have helped at this point.

I'm really sad and depressed over all of these fires; and I feel so sorry for all of the people whose lives have been adversely impacted by them. I hate to see our beautiful state go through this. I'm angry, too, at the possibility that they were deliberately--even strategically--set. I hate to think that.

In Clayton, my car was wet this morning and the air is clean. It was not much but just enough to clear the air. I am sure the firefighters would want a lot more of it.

Oh wow, you're like 10 mins away from me!

It finally rained super hard for perhaps 5 minutes. Enough to get the dust off of the cars.

Been out a couple times now since the fires. The PG&E camp at Stanly Cross in the Carneros is pretty much broken down. There’s blackened slopes and charred remains of houses in between untouched houses, all the way up Atlas Peak Rd. There were still helicopters fighting spot fires around Rutherford a week ago, but it looks like everything there is out. Skyline Park is closed indefinitely until they can repair all the work done to build fire breaks etc.

The Vine Trail was busy last weekend, I suspect it will be today too.
