Good deal. I see they are shoveling compost and not actually "breaking ground" lol. Hopefully that is not a sign of how things are going.

It's SOP for a "groundbreaking". I particularly like what our local trail god (don't tell Hank I called him that) did; he held a ribbon connecting ceremony to symbolize the quarter century it took to finally connect Arcata and Eureka with the Humboldt Bay Trail. It was the teenage kids of people who had been working for this since before they were born who connected the ribbons; it was funny and poignant.

Which reminds me, I should go see how construction's going.

My local county supervisor, John Gioia, is pushing for a connection of the bay trail from Pinole to pt Pinole. I can see the wheels turning but there is property owned by the railroad and some homes that are abutting that section. I told him that I would at least like to ride my mobility scooter on it someday.

If shoveling dirt is "breaking ground," is shoveling compost "breaking wind"?

The section from St Helena to Calistoga will be done later this year. They just dropped in a bridge the other day.

I’ve been able to bike to Vallejo ferry terminal a couple times on mostly protected-ish lanes, it you do have to go onto 29 for little bits of it.
