Kelli's Bridge

Anyone know the disposition of the re-building of Kelli's Bridge where it connects with Devil's Slide Trail and the fire road coming down from Black Hawk Ridge fire road?

One day last year 2022 I was elated to see the new bridge with a nice plaque giving credit to someone named Kelli. This bridge really helped riders crossing Sycamore Creek which has couple of huge drain pipes exposed with a drop of 5 - 10 feet from the road above. Some time toward the end of Summer 2022 after Kelli's Bridge was completed it was torn down. I suspect this was done by Diablo State Park but don't know for certain? The only way to avoid the hazard is to take Devils Slide Trail which is off limits to bikes. Some riders do anyway which is predictable considering the obstruction.

Couple months ago I tried the road again and found there was evidence of work to make another bridge. Large timbers are sitting there with ledges cut in the washout for setting them in place. My question is - does anyone know what's happening with this project? Does anyone know Kelli and what happened to the bridge they made? It was quite an effort and IMHO they / Kelli did a bang up job, whist it lasted!

Kelli's Bridge - quite the engineering piece!

No update? Not familiar with this. I'm going to guess someone missed the bridge and got hurt. Was that tree previously blocking the path on purpose?

curbtender Not sure if that tree was there prior or not? Now there's a vehicle traffic sandwich sign warning of the impending culvert. At least the last time I was on the trail. I should've mentioned that this is off of Mt Diablo for those not familiar with the trail names in the area. As mentioned above, looked as if the state park service is in the process of building a more substantial crossing but I haven't been back since posting this. Hoping for a nice surprise next time! : )

Looks a lot like how Havey Canyon trail was in Wildcat canyon. They finally built a nice bridge over it.
