fyi - I think the Sequoia Century has much nicer routes than the Giro di Peninsula. The Sequoia Century is this Sunday (June 3) and starts at the VA Hospital in Palo Alto. Both the metric and full century go over Page Mill Road (none of this Hwy 84 stuff). The metric comes back on West Alpine. The full century goes down to Santa Cruz and returns via Mountain Charlie. Little traffic, lots of scenery, fun climbs.

Yeah, I agree. But due to family commitments, I have to miss Sequoia.

I look forward to doing the long route with you guys next year! Only one week to Canyon Classic, that's a little less challenging for my first century (the big climb is in the first 30 miles, the last 25 miles is a flat run to the finish).

OMG, I just ate four fig newtons!! I'm not supposed to start carbo loading for three more days!

Okay everyone is off the hook for picking me up and driving me around town and letting me sleep at your homes 2 of my friends ( lara and karen ) are coming so we are going to drive.....again....up there. Thanks Alan for offering the room and board or was it just a room? possibly the porch?. In any event thank you for offer. Sean thanks for offering to make my trip from the airport doable unlike spingineer who wanted me to ride my bike from the tarmac We will be staying in Sunnyvale, I think that's right.

ps....also thanks to the gentleman who offered to pick me up from the other airport....and I do use the term gentleman loosely....( only because if you hang out with these quacks you couldnt possibly be a gentleman .. just teasing.

I think I will be there. I'll be doing the 100 miles if I do. It starts like 3 blocks from my house, and I definately want to do it. So it's only a matter of the $40 (seriously)... Damn student loans

I didn't plan one, but we can sure set one up. There are plenty of places to go for. If we have a big group, I suggest Buca di Beppo ... great family style Italian restaurant. Any chance I get to, I'd go for that. It's in Palo Alto. But if you want something more local, in Sunnyvale, we can go for Gumba, in downtown Sunnyvale. Both are excellent.

Didn't see the Outback suggestion ... that's fine too. I only suggest Buca di Beppo to get into the Italian theme, as that's what Giro di Peninsula is designed after. Get ya into the mood.

Too bad they don't have "Stinkin' Rose" down here ... you'd have to go to SF for that.

Buca de Beppo is fine too.... we're staying in Mtn View/PA area and Tiff is at the same hotel.... as long as we can have Cold Stone sometime over the weekend, I'm happy.

I just know that Asia is an Outback Addict so.... well... there ya go I do love outback!!

Buca di Beppo is off of University ... hard to find if you don't know where to look. Cold Stone is a little south of there on El Camino. We can stop by there after dinner.
