Voted for June 8th, only because some want to do Sequoia Century on June 1st.
I really want to do this but the only date I can't make is June 1 (I'll be in Buttonwillow). Either June 8th or 28th is fine for me.

When I took it last year it was only about 3 hours. But worth every minute!Originally Posted by Owner
Sorry if this was answered already, but is this class all day?
Well... it doesn't sound like there will ever be a "good" day for everyone so what ever day gets the most votes I'll have him do it on that day.

kster - what kind of car will you be driving? Never been to Buttonwillow though. Wish I had my old car and $$ to do track days still!
Gee3, after a few close calls with my daily driver, I bought a 1995 Miata a few years back. It keeps costs down (tires & brakes last a long time) and I don't have to worry about how I'll get to work on monday.

Man, I can go on forever about the fun of track days and how much I miss those days...
But back on topic...
I found out that the cost will be $50/ea. It's usually about $70/ea so we're getting a pretty good discount.
So far the 8th is in the lead... I'll give it a few more days before I close the polls!
Thanks to everyone so far! And if you can't make it we can always do it again later on in the year!

Where will the class be held? Torn between this one and the velogirls bike skills 101 clinic.

Most likely it will be down in the Los Altos area (near the Chain Reaction bike shop). I haven't worked out the full details with Matt yet but we may be heading up Stevens Canyon, Mt. Eden and Montebello (not all the way up).Originally Posted by ricebowl

For those interested can you please PM me your email addresses? Or email me at gary(dot)lee@hud(dot)gov. My home computer crashed so my work email is probably the fastest and easiest way to get in touch with me.
And the start time will be either 8 or 8:30 since it'll probably be really warm if we get too close to noon. And the class will be about 3 hours long. Worth every minute, imo.

At the end of this week or early next week I'll close the poll and hammer out the details.
Feel free to email or PM me with any questions or concerns.
Thanks!
Gary
Can we get a breakdown of what skills will be taught like the list Lorri had (I guess the thread about her class was deleted)?

Say Thanks to Gee3!!
I was wondering how to say thank you to the organizer of this class when it dawned on me that it was sitting right in front of my nose!
If you want to show your appreciation for Gary having put this all together, then why not sponsor him on his MS ride (the link is in his signature). I'm going to do that right now!

WOW! Thanks LanceMach!!!! I really appreciate this! But I must say... I"m doing it for selfish reasons. I don't want to take the class by myself! hahaha! Originally Posted by LanceMach

Henry... I hope to get the exact details sorted out with Matt by next week. At that time I'll let everyone know the exact details!
Thanks for everyone's patience!!

Okay. It looks like June 8th is the date.
For those interested, if you hadn't done so yet please pm me your email address so I can have Matt send you the invitation for the class on his website.
Again here are the quick tentative details:
Date: Sunday, June 8th
Time: 8-8:30am (also TBD)
Cost: $50 (about $20 less than normal prices)
Location: still TBD but around the Los Altos area
Class: Climbing and Descending with some Speed Skills thrown in as well.
Skill level: anyone, including newbies (or those not quite in top shape, like me!)
So far kster and ifox have contacted me with their emails.
So please get me your info by this week so we can get everything nailed down!
Thanks again for everyone's patience and participation! It'll be a fun class that I think everyone that participates, no matter what skill level, will be able to take something good away from it.!

Henry, I believe it's how to go fast safely and efficiently. Matt had the description on his site but the clinic already passed so it's not up anymore. So I'll get the info from Matt and let everyone know.Originally Posted by BlastRadius

kster - I'm sure he'll be up to teach us almost anything. I'll let him know you suggested that.

Thanks!
