n00b rider here i ride mostly in the santa cruz mountains, did a 70 mile loops to the coast a few days ago climb to skyline twice, not to shabbily either (23:50 OLH). Would I find this century difficult? it doesnt sound like much climbing which means 100 miles should be relatively easy, at least compared to 100 around skyline

You sound like you would have no trouble with Foxy's. If you can ride 70 and with the kind of climbs you are doing, the relatively flat 100 of this event will be easily within your reach. Go for it!

rdtompki, seems like a great century for a tandem compared to some of the others around here. Yeah I'm going to give them a lot of grief if they don't sign up. I'm used to climbing Mt. Diablo, so 100 on the flats shouldn't be much trouble at all, and I know the guys I'm living with are pretty capable as well. Maybe I'll have to inspire them somehow...

Bump.

This'll be my first century after three years of talking about doing one. Pretty excited about it.

no, but the 100 mile only climbs 2000 feet, so elevation is really minimal

I chose an exaggerated vertical scale just for fun.

I'm going to die. Well, probably not, but my legs will likely hurt pretty badly.

There are only two hills to speak of on this course. Remember to eat, drink, and don't go to fast and you will be just fine.
The biggest danger is going out to fast. There is 50 miles of pancake flat roads where it is real easy to push to hard.

If it makes you feel better I'm planning on riding my fixed gear this year and the hills aren't worrying me.

I completely slacked on registration and now it looks like it's sold out, bummer. Anyone know if registrations are transferable? If so I'll keep an eye out and try and snag one.

I've heard they keep some open on race day, so I'd say just get there early if you can't find one on craigslist.

Bump.

Hey, anyone want to ride the whole American River Trail with me tomorrow afternoon? My roommate and I were planning on doing this before Foxy's at some point, but he's out of town, and I still want to get in one more lengthy ride before the 16th. I know this is really short notice, but I just thought about doing this yesterday evening.

Due to a foot injury I won't be able to ride this one; anyone know if my registration is transferable?

finished about 110 miles in 5:30 not counting rests. Did see one person with a NorCal jersey, but didn't have a chance to say hi. Overall a great ride

Haha nice!

I didn't see anyone in NorCal jersey, was wearing one on a Red Fuji Newest 1.0

Great ride, my friends and I did it on our own which was def. a fun experience (Overloaded on food, not enough water!)
