'09 Trek 2.3 a good fit for me?

I'm looking for some input on my next bike purchase and thought you local riders might be able to help me out!

I'm currently riding an '06 Bianchi Cross Veloce. I don't do cross, I just ended up getting a GREAT deal on this bike after my old one was stolen. I ride about 100-150 miles a week and I'm looking for a more "road" oriented bike.

I found a good deal on an 09 Trek 2.3 and I'm thinking about purchasing it. Does anyone have experience with this bike? What's the weight like? How does it handle on climbs/flats? What level of rider would you recommend it to?

Thanks!

You could just get a new set of wheels and switch it out with the cross wheels. Or just replace the tires. Of course, if you just want a new bike, the Trek 2.3 is decent.

I've been running road tires since I bought the bike. I guess what I'm looking for is something with more of a road/race geometry.

That and, you can never have too many bikes... If I had a road bike I could use this for cross next year and not worry about destroying my commuter/road bike.

The 2.3 is nicely spec'd but the list price for 105 is pretty steep.
I hope you deal you found is at least 1/3 off list price.

If you need a 50, 54, or 58 cm bike, you can get a full Ultegra Pinarello for $1900.

Well, I found a "never-used" frame/fork set for $375. Figured I'd build the rest.
