Thursday night ride (peninsula)

I'm planning to do head out for an evening/night ride this Thursday. Start in Woodside and climb Kings Mtn, north on Skyline, descend Hwy 92, and back via Hastings, Club, Crestview. It should be 28 miles with around 3000' of climbing. Meet at the Woodside cafe/bakery at 7:00pm

Right now wunderground is showing temps in the high 60s at the top of Kings ... hopefully this weather system holds for a few days!

Here's the route: https://www.gmap-pedometer.com/?r=2860253

sounds like a perfect route. I would probably to the Hastings/Club/Crestview/Edgewood on my way out and branch of after 92 to head home.

However, I am tied up this Thursday night.

I'll definitely want to do this another time though.

+1, sounds like a fun route, however, I can't make it out this Thursday. Next Thursday, though, I'm in.

I haven't ridden since my commute last Thursday and this next weekend isn't looking good either. Therefore I'm going to get some miles in tonight in addition to Thursday's loop.

Tonight/Wednesday: https://www.gmap-pedometer.com/?r=2862907

From my house it's 23.5 miles. It cuts through Canada College and then what should be a fun ski-jump of a downhill on Farm Hill Blvd (haven't ridden here in 2+ years). Then it's up to the high point of Emerald Hills, back down to Edgewood, and a new route up to the top of Crestview followed by a descent of Club (I've never done it, should be exciting) and finally a straight shot home on Alameda.

I'll try and leave my house so as to swing by Woodside/Canada roads at 7:00pm if anyone wants to join.

That was a good ride. Instead of taking Kings all the way we detoured through Huddart Park (my first time this way). It was a nice way to get a couple miles of climbing without having to look out for cars.

Then the part on Skyline where it went from a balmy, sunny 65 degrees to foggy low 50s in a matter of seconds was particularly "fun". I always enjoy the localized rain showers underneath the trees on this stretch of road

Chris, hope you got to the grocery store before they closed!

Yeah it was an awesome ride. It was quite an experience to be riding as the sun was getting low in the blue sky with perfectly comfortable temperatures. Then to see what looked like smoke pouring into the road ahead. I was like, what the heck is that. Well it was just fog and when we hit it, it was like entering a walk in refrigerator. It was sort of hell going through that (for several miles) but in a pretty cool way. At points, visibility was around 50 yards. As we descended 92, the blue skys and temperate weather reappeared. And I was left in awe by Mother Nature.

I would like to do a ride like this either Wed. or Thursday night of this week (and next). Is anyone interested? We could skip Kings and stay more local if you'd prefer. Let me know.
