Gauging Interest: Mt Hamilton Backroads Century

Here is a little route put together by your's truly.

The stats are:
Apx 103 miles
Apx 12,070 feet of climbing.

The route is basically as follows:

- Start at the School on Krik near the base of Hamilton
- Take the side streets with a little warmup climb over to Qumiby
- Up Quimby
- Continue up the front side of Hamilton
- Near the top, go up Kinkaid to the gate and back
- Down the back side of Hamilton
- Take Del Puerto Canyon Rd to Adobe Canyon Rd
- Ride Adobe Canyon Rd until you have to turn around (not sure how far you can go, but that's part of the fun). Also, they have free natural spring water, everyday 24/7 except Saturday. Check this out: https://www.mgwater.com/adobe.shtml and https://www.pmgeiser.ch/mineral/index...disp&parval=76
- Ride back to the Junction of Del Puerto/San Antonio Valley for lunch at the Junction Cafe.
- After lunch, up the back side of Hamilton
- Down the front side, as usual.

Here is the Bikely:
https://www.bikely.com/maps/bike-path...ckroad-Century

Any takers??

I cannot do this Saturday due to the Pescadero RR.

Looks like a fun route. If this happened on June 20 I'd definitely make it.

Edit: I'd be riding from home and would meet up at the base of Quimby to avoid 8 junk miles of backtracking

June 20 looks like a good candidate. Unless I decide to do the Diablo TT thing.

If it were in mid July, I might be able to make it.

Sure. I wouldn't mind doing it again.

I will probably do it sooner than that as well.

I might be down for Sunday, if my legs are OK.. right now they are still crazy sore from that damn hike.

That road race might be the knife in the heart for me, but we will see I guess.

Can't do this Sunday as I'm doing the oddball ride. 6/21 is Father's day so doing family stuff.

If it doesn't work out for 6/20 then I will probably do a ride closer to home that day such as the Umunhum-Mt. Madonna-Corralitos-Eureka Canyon loop I had planned a while back.

I can do this ride again maybe when everyone is less busy.

So when is everyone in the clear... more like July?

I can't do the 27th due to our wedding.

I am still down to try it this Sunday. So far Ramon is available... anyone else??

I could do Sunday at 7am or next weekend. I may opt to skip Quimby and just meet you up Hamilton, as I lack the desire to destroy my little remaining knee integrity.

My vote is for next weekend. There's no better way to get back in-shape after a week's worth of beer and schnitzel.

Well, if you don't mind waiting for my slow ass, then I'll consider it. It's not gonna snow now, is it?

This weekend is no good, but I'd be down for some derivative of this route if this happened next weekend (I may skip some part of the "scenic detours" to keep my legs from revolting on the wrong side of the hill ).

Ive ridden here before and you don't actually have to go off road to get the spring water, I think that road is so they can truck out the water, after you finish the steep descent its right on the side of the road, ive never gone past there but I guess if you were feeling adventurous you could keep going
