New Year's Day Ride

For many years we've celebrated health & fitness (and worked off a hangover or two ) by Jazzercising or cycling. This century it's been all cycling -- we've done a couple of Lake Loops (metric century; about 2200' of climbing) or indoor trainer sessions when the weather has been too nasty.

This year we're open to leading a Lake Loop, weather permitting. right now it looks dry, but cold. We're thinking a 9 a.m. start time, and could be persuaded to start a bit later for those of you who prefer (or need to ) sleep a bit later.

Reply to this thread or PM me to confirm. We can provide hot showers at the end of the ride, or at least some towels with which to dry your bike.

Moderate pace -- we'll be on the tandem -- our only fast speeds will be on the downhills. This is a no drop ride, and we'll have cue sheets for the out-of-towners.

Looking forward to seeing you again!

Clockwise or counter-clockwise?

It's a possibility....

Thanks for the invite, I would be there but I have plans that day. Something about getting back on a horse that bucked me last June.
Horst that bucked me, hmm... too cryptic? It is just that I don't want to make a big deal of it.

I'm in, and may bring a friend or two with me. Where are we starting? I'll need an address or something.

I can't remember the last time we've had a decent enough day on New Year's to ride up there. Tomorrow looks to be clear but cold, good enough for me!

No response from Red Rider yet, so....

I plan to be at the clock tower in Vacaville about 9:30 to roll. Ok, it'll be more like 10.

Dusting of snow near the summit...and black ice to boot! That was fun. And cold.

I keep hoping that a whole lot of slow riders got Strava-ready GPS devices for Chrismas, so my relative postion on the segment leaderboards will improve without actually having to get any faster.
