STP one week away!
I'm getting excited, are you? This will be my first STP. I'm doing it in one day. Who else is going?

I certainly am. It is my first STP as well. I will be riding with my daughter and her husband. Have been training since February and feel ready. We will be doing the two-day.
Ride safe.

I am doing the one day ride although the stupid alarm has been ringing in my head the last couple days. I have ridden STP the last couple years but both times did it in two days. This year though the group I rode with fell apart and there will be no motor home or great camp set up in Chehalis so I opted for the one day ride. Actually I also am getting excited and am looking forward to the challenge. You know I may have to change my screen name since I sold my faithful old blue schwinn peloton and bought a new bike. See you at the start line.

This is my first STP also, can't believe it's already next weekend. I was training to do it in 1 1/2 days, but I've decided to try it in one day. We're starting on the eastside with the idea that we'll pick up the official route at REI. I'll keep an eye out for you.
Hopefully we have nice weather and a strong tailwind.

Ouch! 90 degrees...I won't be at the STP, too difficult to get the time off at this time of year.
Good luck to all, though .

I'll be there - shooting for the one-day.
Look for a red/black SoCal Bikeforums jersey with the big star on a black Specialized S-Works, and please come up/ride alongside (before you drop me) and say hi and introduce yourself!
Are any of the local Bikeforums members gathering prior to the start and starting together?

This is my first STP.
How crazy is packet pickup at the Seattle REI? I'm planning to go after work on Wednesday to get packets for myself and three friends.
Any veterans got some tips for getting in and out of there quickly?

I am not doing STP (probably never will ) but I'll be around this weekend. If anyone wants to grab a beer or something in Portland when it's all over, PM me.

I've done it the past two years, but this year I'm just planning on riding up to St. Helens Saturday afternoon and help pull a few friends back to Portland to the beer garden. Anyone else want to join me?

This will be my first time, I'm shooting for sub 12 hrs. I was originally thinking of doing it in two days, but after having completed a solo century in under 5.5hrs I've decided to go all the way in one shot. Any Portlanders out there willing to give up a couch till the bus takes me back on Monday?

I did it last year, for my first time, going to miss it this year due to a family wedding getting in the way. A friend and I went at it really hard last year and tried to break a total ride time with breaks of under 10 hrs, missed it by 45 mins. Gonesh9, that sounds like a nice day on the bike and would love to do something like that some time.
Good luck to everyone, keep upright and have fun!!

I'm there, #1914 on a blue Cannondale with a small handlebar bag. I will probably be wearing the same "Seattle" jersey as woodinville guy. Or plain blue. It's my first STP; doing the one-day. Say hi and ask for some Hot Tamales (cinnamon candy).

I'm doing the one day solo in my (probably ubiquitous) 2007 STP Jersey on my 2006 Fuji Team Issue wearing bib #4925. I'm a first timer, and it's recently come to my attention that the official route is not what I thought all along.
I'm looking to get a 20mph riding average when it's all said and done. If you got the joke and you see me along the way, let's trade pulls and jokes.
