Hi all! My name is Darren Beatty, and im 100% new to road biking. Hell i dont even know if thats the correct term. Thats how new i am. I have always loved 2 wheels, the motorized kind. I am the local track photographer for seattle, portland, Spokane, and Oregon Raceway Park for a few events. I have ridden motorcycles my whole life basically, and was just given a nice road bike a few months back by my uncle. I have NO CLUE what model it is, its a Trek, its red, white, and blue, and its roughly 8 years old and in perfect condition. Probably considered junk by most of you but thats okay! Just wanted to say hi. I'll be out there trying to get in shape, and i've always enjoyed watching the tours shown on Versus. I'll be riding the federal way/browns point/NE Tacoma area. I'll be starting riding in the 2:30-3:30pm time frame randomly mon-fri if any slow folks out there want to ride.

Welcome Darren. Enjoy your time and freedom on a road bike. I wouldn't classify your bike as junk. My "newest" one is 12 yrs old and the oldest is 41 yrs old with a few in the middle. I enjoy them all and don't care much what others think - it's what works for you that counts.
