Racing in Issaquah Area
Hey, I just joined the forums. I've been riding for years, mainly solo on the Eastside. I have never raced before and am thinking of starting, but frankly havent any clue where to go, etc. Can anyone recommend any good introductory races on the Eastside? I am in my late thirties, and in good shape. I think I ride fairly well for a hacker (avg speeds on 30 mile rides are usually around 19 mph), but really have no frame of reference.
Any suggestions of races or clubs would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance!

I know a few beginners who do this:

It's in Redmond, right up Lake Sammamish Pkwy from you. There's also the races at Seward Park in Seattle if you want to go a little further:

Definitely check out the WSBA site mentioned above. Also new teams will be recruiting starting in September for next season. Although this link is old, it will be updated with new dates =>

Seward is a great place to start. Races are every Thursday night in the upper loop of the park. The WSBA site will have all the info you need on racing in general. In terms of races near Issaquah, there is a race coming up in August near Carnation (Lake Washington Velo's circuit race #3.
