I could have been a poster child for "clumsy child syndrome." I didn't walk until almost age 2, got sent to lots of special classes and evaluations by child development specialists, and couldn't balance on a bicycle until age 12. I am the polar opposite of the natural good-at-every-sport athlete my younger son is. (The family joke is that he inherits his athletic prowess from me.

Did anyone else here discover bicycling as an alternative to the usual team sports in which clumsy children were definitely unwanted? Bicycling is the only sport I have truly loved, and I owe my current high level of cardiovascular fitness to it.
