No one is gonna restore modern cars either. My 95 Accord is 10 times better a car than my '56 Pontiac was but I'd never fix one up.

Forget the derailler all together. put a coaster brake in the back and some wide whites and fat fenders. It would be the lightest Schwinn cruiser ever!

I like to hit them with a hammer till they fit. Less tools and no safety glasses. relieves some of the tension caused by all of the other things I'd like to hit with a hammer too.
