you might consider using a second “Lock” washer under the D ring bolt. As I wrote earlier, Campagnolo eventually supplied 4 washers with a lever assembly kit, enough for 2 per side.

I’ve used Look, Speedplay and SPD’s. IMHO, for racing crits, Speedplays are the clear winner. They’re faster easier to clip into.. With a 4 bolt shoe, the stack height and cornering angle are great....

I'll be a dissenting voice and say that speed does matter. Even though I was already a cat 1 by that point, when I started focusing on speed, really focusing, it helped. I started podiuming way more....
