TV coverage for MSR

The Milano - San Remo website and all the cycling sites seem to be saying the race will be covered by HBO Max in the U. S. I have HBO Max, and MSR is not on the schedule. Anyone know what’s going on? I’d like to be able to watch the race.

Bikes: Cross-Check/Nexus commuter. Several others for various forms of play.

It's MIA in the "up ahead" programs but I expect it will appear soon.

I've got that on my To Do list, too. Do you have the B/R Sports add-on? I see I need to activate the standard or premium package (over the cheapo plan I've got in my bundle) and I see how to do that, but I haven't found the sports add-on yet.

I'm glad the same solution will deliver the Giro.

OTOH, I see that SBS On Demand is free in Australia. VPN may be easier than B/R Sports.

I miss GCN+

I’ve got the “Standard Plan” which I believe includes the Bleacher Report bundle, and NSR is not there.

I pulled the trigger on the $7.50 monthly upcharge from HBOMin to HBOMed. HBOMax is another fee, for no ads. We'll see how oppressive they are.

B/R Sports "bundle" is surprisingly integrated in it. I do not see MSR in the listings but am confident it will show up in a few days. I just watched Jasper's Disaster in T-A to confirm things works. I may curl up this evening with a bourbon and Strade Bianche.

TBD who is calling the races ahead. Hopefully it will be the Eurosport team. T-A was Robbie McEwen and someone else, not Carlton, Ant, or Rob Hatch.

Bikes: Seriously downsizing.

It's on the Max schedule as of now.

I've not had any luck using the search function in HBO for current/recent/future cycling coverage, only 2025 stuff pops up. The races do pop up in the live TV section... sometimes you will be without coverage for an hour or so, then the live feed pops up.

No point watching before the final descent anyway. I feel the race is too forgiving of riders who have been dropped near the end, so MSR signals that it's time to figure out how to watch the other classics.

The last 40-50k may have been some of the most exciting racing I’ve ever seen.

I think having Pogi shaking up everything- throwing haymakers on all the climbs, but the climbs enough to take anyone out of contention - makes it thrilling and unpredictable.

Positioning, keeping the teams together, explosive climbing, daredevil descending, and the insane physical abilities…

after some 170 miles of racing, between climbs the lead trio/Pogi were pushing out 470+w and then 5-8 min of 6-900w+ on the climbs - and the gaps would still come down on the flats because of the charging teams behind…

And guys that were on the deck with 30k to go were able to make it back, blow up the race and stand on the podium.

Incredible.

I don't really see how pogs and UAE made it all the way through the peloton from crashing in the run in to the Cipressa to the summit of the Cipressa. it's only about 6 km?

only thing I can think happened.

Teams heard he crashed and instantly turned into bunch sprint mode. Eased up on the climb and got the lead out trains lined up. - Mucnulty paced him back to the front in the first 2k of the climb, maybe even less.

The bunch had to slow at the bottom of the climb, pinch point, narrow road - Pogs and McNulty hit it full gas.

I dont think Pidcock could have gone clear without Pogi pacing him, and it didn’t look like MVDP was planning an attack, based off where he was sitting in the pack.

I just think the entire pace of the race changed when he hit the deck.

Egg on my face here for sure. Over the past ?? consecutive editions MSR puts me in the state where the voice saying "Don't worry. You won't miss anything you'd really want to see." has been on one heck of a roll. For his sake, I'm glad he got that monkey off his back. I only see one 'legacy' scenario where he ever rides this race again.

Great stage, but different.

Re. TV coverage in general, I think it's time for drones to play a bigger part, and helicopters and motorcycles to play a smaller one.

It's ridiculous to have so many motorcycles clogging up the small country roads. They could be flying drones from nearby cars. Just keep them off to the side a bit, so if they go down, they will not interfere with the race. They could have two drones ready, so that one is flying while the other docks in the car for a battery change. We've got the tech to make this happen.

The drone shot following Pog and Pidcock down the Poggio was great!

Two? Try 100!! With almost as many pilots.

The little drones are doing a really great job at focused point coverage, like the Poggio. The streaming image quality has come along nicely. They are coming into their own at choice locations, crits and CX, etc.

The little drones still don't have the payload and dwell time, nor the operating range -- particularly distance from operator (regulatory as much as tech) -- to cover a road race.

I wanted to watch Gent-Wevelgem today. Darn Flo.

It's shown ob SBS for free Down Under but they've got the most diligent VPN sniffers. Ugggh! I couldn't get it going via NordVPN after working on it for a whole cup of coffee, changing protocols and clearing cache and all.

Flanders Fields call to me. Curse the electric fence.
