Not a green hand
Am I the only one who watched the video close? Hushovd hit a spectators arm before he reached the green hand, sending a camera flying into his helmet. He flinched and moved left after the camera hit him. It was probably a watch or fingernail or something that actually cut him.

They're cardboard green hands handed out by the caravan publicitaire.....from the sponsor of the maillot vert Same thing happened to Robbie a few Tours back.
Dangerous hittiing a bit of cardboard laterally at 70kmh.

Spectator contact definitely affected Boonen and McEwen as well. Of course, it's not likely Boonen would have won with no help from his team but I believe McEwen would have won if it weren't for the water balloon or whatever it was that those guys ran into.

It was odd to see Boonen go so early but then again he had open road in front of him and (for once) knew where McEwen was.
Brilliant riding by George. Same for Bénéteau holding off the charge just long enough.

Clearly it was George Dubya in the crowd with a bowie knife checking to see if Hushovd contained any oil.

I'm curious, if as phil (I Think) said that by sending out George for the bonus and the yellow jersey, that makes him the de facto disco leader. Does anyone else believe this? I don't buy it. He may be the team leader but putting him in yellow is a payback for over seven years of loyality, there is no way disco will try to defend yellow for 3 weeks.
If Johan was that sure of george you don't spend energy on time bonuses in the 1st stage. Thoughts?

when you are 0.78 seconds from the maillot jaune, you sprint for everything.....and then keep it for as long as possible.
Savoldelli, Popovych or Acevedo to hopefully make the selection when the crunch comes.

I hope to see more effort, and less scripting, this tour.

Since he's a sprinter, it probably does little to change his tactics, but if this were happenning with a serious GC or KOM competitor how much might it slow them? Would this type injury qualify for a therapeudic use exception?

If it wasn't Col. Mustard in the library with the candlestick holder, then it must have been Armstrong on the finishing straight with a Motorola RAZR! (In all seriousness, I'm glad that Thor's injuries were not as bad as they looked, and that he was able to continue.)

It was a "guest" who did all the hard work of setting up the "No spoiler" posts for each Tour stage???
I don't think so. Erasing Koffee Brown's name won't cause anyone to forget who made the "Tour" section of the Forum so much fun until, until.....I don't want to talk about it...
