Landice's Yellow Bike
I only saw it here and there during the OLN broadcast, but my first impression was:
"Flip it!"

That was, indeed, a sweet bike. I like Team Phonak's bikes as it is but that one is a stunner.

Between Landis calling the other riders "pretenders" and then riding a yellow bike mid-tour rather than just in Paris, I think he might have angered the cycling Gods.

But, on the other hand, I've really enjoyed Landis' faith in himself; so for him to feel he's going to get that bike back in a few days is encouraging.

Yeah, I think the yellow/green/polka-dot stuff HAS gone a little overboard...
I think it all started with Laurent Jalabert's polka-dot Look that he got on his last trip to Paris. Hell, even Tom Boonen was wearing a special helmet and crap like that when he was wearing yellow... Robbie McEwen also has a green bike waiting, but I haven't seen him actually ride it yet. He said one morning that he was happy with how his current bike was riding.
Whatever. If each team wants to spend the cash to have a yellow bike and yellow kit handy just in case, let 'em. And while Flandis's yellow bike is an insanely cool rendition of what is already my dream bike, it seems a little excessive.

Yeah it all ties in with Phonak's plan to overthrow the French government by disrepecting the yellow jersey and anything associated with the Tour in general.
Gimme a break. Not one of us would even think twice about taking and riding that bike if we were in Floyd's shoes. Well, not too many of us would even make it that far I guess.
I say, good for him, ride on. Who cares what color bike or helmet he's wearing.

DrPete, you think this is "excessive"? You need to get out a bit more. The world's screaming, "Anything worth doing, is worth doing to excess."
Meanwhile, back to the "Tour". Pretty exciting stuff everyday, eh?

Shouldn't Phonak have waited until the last day to unveil the bike? I mean, come on, they gave away the jersey the next day! Lance never put on the full yellow regalia (helmet, bike, wheels) until the ride into the Champs Elysee. Probably lots of grumbling, but that's a reason Phonak was criticized for not doing more to hold onto the jersey. If you're going to flaunt it, defend it!

Still, if I ever have the cash for a Pro Machine, I'd shell out a couple extra bucks for the yellow one too... Guess none of us are immune
