weather delay?

After our group ride last night got cancelled due to thunderstorms, I got to thinking: Has a tour stage or even the tour itself ever been cancelled or delayed due to weather? Just wondering.

Yes.

If the conditions are dangerous in the eyes of the commissaires (mostly ex-racers, so they'll know) a stage, or any race, can be cancelled, shortened or the results set at a certain point prior to the finish.

Bikes: how long have you got?

They shortened a stage of the 'Giro' this year......bloody wimps didn't want to ride up a 24% grade in 3ft of snow!
