Considering everything that has happened the term 'Race Favourite' has absolutely no meaning or worth!

What a ride by Rasmussen.
I saw that, the man who grabbed him did so in order to save the guy from getting run over by the director's car.

On if he (Rasmussen) will consider going for the yellow jersey...
Rasmussen: "Well, the way I'm riding, it would be stupid not to."

Well, looks like there was a good move after all....
I guess now Vino and Kloden are behind in the group of GC contenders -- who would have thought?

Boy was I wrong about the chicken. In spite of me being wrong I think he is a dangerous man to let get away.

I don't think it was necessarily a wrong move for Kloden to sit up and help Vino get to the finish. You guys have to remember that this wasn't the last day of the mountains, so who knows what will happen in the next couple of mountain stages.
Amazing ride by Chicken!
I was also happy to see Mayo ride so well again.

Yep, Kloden was ahead of all the other GC contenders before today and has now lost a minute unnessarily to pace Vino. Kash made the lead group still and is very strong in the TT so they still have plenty of options, but it just seemed like a wasted minute to me.
I wonder if Rasmussen can hold on in the TT, I think he could easily podium if Rabobank worked for him, but that would mean maybe throwing away polka dots. 3 stage wins in as many years, I guess this makes him the most consistent climber in the peloton now (for 3 days a year in the alps at any rate )

Anybody else think that Cadel + Valverde screwed themselves today? By dicking around, and forcing Moreau to pull 80% of the time, that group lost the chance to gain separation from the other contenders. GC could look like this:
1 Michael Rasmussen (Den) Rabobank 35.37.42
2 Linus Gerdemann (Ger) T-Mobile Team 0.43
3 Iban Mayo Diez (Spa) Saunier Duval - Prodir 1.39
4 Alejandro Valverde Belmonte (Spa) Caisse d'Epargne 1.51
5 Andrey Kashechkin (Kaz) Astana 2.52
6 Cadel Evans (Aus) Predictor - Lotto 1.53
7 Christophe Moreau (Fra) AG2r Prévoyance 2.06
8 Alberto Contador Velasco (Spa) Discovery Channel Pro Cycling Team 3.10
9 Frank Schleck (Lux) Team CSC 3.14
10 Denis Menchov (Rus) Rabobank 3.19
11 Carlos Sastre Candil (Spa) Team CSC 3.35
12 Levi Leipheimer (USA) Discovery Channel Pro Cycling Team 3.43
13 Andreas Klöden (Ger) Astana 3.46
22 Alexandre Vinokourov (Kaz) Astana 5.23
Cadel and Valverde would be sitting pretty as the best TTers in the top 10, with a 2 minute advantage over the other good GC TTers, Levi and Kloden.
Instead, it looks like this:
1 Michael Rasmussen (Den) Rabobank 35.37.42
2 Linus Gerdemann (Ger) T-Mobile Team 0.43
3 Iban Mayo Diez (Spa) Saunier Duval - Prodir 2.39
4 Alejandro Valverde Belmonte (Spa) Caisse d'Epargne 2.51
5 Andrey Kashechkin (Kaz) Astana 2.52
6 Cadel Evans (Aus) Predictor - Lotto 2.53
7 Christophe Moreau (Fra) AG2r Prévoyance 3.06
8 Alberto Contador Velasco (Spa) Discovery Channel Pro Cycling Team 3.10
9 Frank Schleck (Lux) Team CSC 3.14
10 Denis Menchov (Rus) Rabobank 3.19
11 Carlos Sastre Candil (Spa) Team CSC 3.35
12 Levi Leipheimer (USA) Discovery Channel Pro Cycling Team 3.43
13 Andreas Klöden (Ger) Astana 3.46
14 Oscar Pereiro Sio (Spa) Caisse d'Epargne 3.54
22 Alexandre Vinokourov (Kaz) Astana 5.23

I agree.
Wasn't the dig on Evans that he's not aggressive enough? Riding with Moreau -- not behind him, would have been a smart move.
