Tour of the Gila and Battenkill
Can anyone provide more information on what just happened with these two races? Why were they advertising UCI status (or even attempting UCI status) if they did not have the sponsors in place.
I understand their frustration with the rules for crits vs. road races, and this is unfortunate. But this also seems like an out for them because they were unable to get the sponsors necessary to satisfy UCI requirements.
Can someone with more knowledge of the situations provide some insight here?
